![]() The Insurance Commissioner of Georgia is appointed as the legal agent for the companies listed on Form GID-4, "Appointment of Commissioner as Attorney-in-Fact by Insurer." The company bylaws supply similar information to the charters, but in greater detail. The corporation charters or certificates of incorporation outline the objects, purposes, and powers of the companies; identify the names of incorporators and officers; and bear the pertinent signatures and notarizations. The applications for Original Certificates of Authority indicate the location of each company's principal office, the classes of insurance the company proposes to write in Georgia, the form of the company's organization, and pertinent dates. All these records are required by Georgia laws pertaining to licensing and regulating insurance companies, which is the primary function of the Insurance Division. The series includes: 1.
